Is the Twelve Core Random Biopsy for Prostate Cancer Obsolete?

A perfect test for prostate cancer should detect high-grade prostate cancer accurately while avoiding the over-diagnosis of harmless, low-grade cancers (the Gleason 6 variety). Back in 2011, the US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommended against further PSA testing in healthy men because of the rampant over treatment of low-grade cancers.
